FAQs
Q: Which holder is best for our office?
A: Depends on what you prefer; if you prefer an autoclavable holder, try
the XCP or XCP-DS Systems or for a disposable holding system, try the new
Uni-Grip AR Positioning System. If you prefer bisecting angle technique,
try the Snap-A-Ray or Eezee-Grip holders. See our website,
www.rinncorp.com for more details.
Q: Why do my bite-wing x-rays have overlapping?
A: If the interproximal spaces are not parallel to the x-ray beam and
perpendicular to the film or sensor, you will overlap. If you position the
film or sensor to be perpendicular to the interproximal spaces and not to
the teeth being radiographed, you will open the contacts.
Q: How long will our XCP or XCP-DS parts last?
A: They are warranted to last for 300 autoclave cycles or approximately
one year of usage. However, plastic parts are porous and break down after
consistent autoclaving and should be replaced when they show wear.
Q: What can I do to make x-rays more comfortable for my patients?
A: Watch our positioning training module to review good positioning
techniques. A few tips include: always place the film/sensor in the
center of the mouth where there is more room for it, distract the patient
with another job to do while the x-rays are being taken, and move swiftly
once the holder is positioned properly.
